Despite 90 minutes, 28 shots and 10 shots on goal, FC Dallas and the Columbus Crew played to a 1–1 draw on Sept. 24.
Justin Merram opened the scoring nine minutes into the match, slotting home a pass from Federico Higuaín to take the early 1–0 lead.
FC Dallas finally got on the board in the 77th minute when Tesho Akindele found the back of the net to draw the match level at 1–1.
